This year's prestigious INNOVATION Awards program received a record number of product entries from nearly 100 companies with a total of 18 categories and more than 160 products submitted. The award serves to recognize the products or services that have best responded to the challenges in the $82 billion electrical contractors' market by offering innovative ideas.

The INNOVATION Awards ceremony was held on October 5, 2008 in Chicago at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Trade Show. Master of Ceremonies, John Dyslin, editor, Electrical Contracting Products, addressed the fact that with so many entries, unfortunately not every company can go away a winner. However, because there were several exceptional products in each category that deserved to be recognized for their innovativeness, they will be showcasing finalists throughout 2009 in the publication’s "Innovation Award Finalists" products section.
