Londonderry, NH, July 9, 2001 ConEst Software Systems, the leading developer of software applications serving the electrical contractor and datacom industries, today announced a new interface to The American Contractor construction accounting software from Van Stolk Computer Service, Inc. (VSCS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Maxwell Systems Inc.
The new interface gives users the ability to import estimate data from the ConEst2000 estimating software into a budget within The American Contractor construction accounting software. ConEst2000 is a full scale estimating software program that includes real-time networking, built-in NEC calculations, automatic labor rate adjustments, digital photo display, change order functionality, and quotation analysis.
This interface enables The American Contractor customers to start tracking the job faster, including costs such as payroll, equipment usage, and fees. "The faster you can get into your job tracking module, the faster youll know how youre doing on the job," said Roseanne Prevost-Morgan, development/support liaison for VSCS. "ConEst2000 successfully met all the required testing criteria for importing a bid to The American Contractor job budget module. The interface also eliminates the need to manually input job tracking codes one by one. Because each job tracking code could have as many as five budget amounts or cost types (labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, and other), customers can save a significant amount of time."
"Were pleased to work with VSCS. Together our companies share a similar vision by addressing the need to provide a faster way for contractors to track their jobs," said George Hague, president of ConEst. "Like ConEst, VSCS recognizes that a contractors time is valuable. The more efficient you can make their job, the better. Our customers have come to rely on us to deliver solutions that meet their needs. Thats why ConEst is always developing new technology and creating innovative ways to deliver powerful, yet intuitive, easy-to-use applications."
